Yingkai conducted research in the Liu lab for synthetic evolution at UCI and focused on creating a DNA-protein conjugate using an engineered genetic system. He is interested in molecular biology and synthetic biology. Yingkai plans to gain more specialized research experience in graduate school.

Tiffany is interested in synthetic biology and particularly engineering bacteria for therapeutic purposes. She has done research in optogenetics and stem cell biology. Tiffany is currently the president of AEMB, the national biomedical engineering honors society.

Shinnosuke is interested in developing clinical diagnostic devices. He has done research in clinical diagnostic tools such as a non contact blood pressure monitor. Shinnosuke plans to pursue further education in his field in graduate school before entering industry.

During his undergraduate years at UCI, Thai conducted research at the Beckman Laser Institute and created a compact, blood flow imaging device that would be used for laser therapy feedback for clinicians. This project inspired him to pursue a career in medical device design.
